Find Out How To Take Care Of Your KopyKake Prinhead When Priniting On Cakes With Edible Image

It is almost inevitable that at some point your print head will become blocked and you might experience printing difficulties. If you have extended times between print jobs your printhead might get blocked; use the KopyKake Steam-Jet hand held Cleaner to deep clean your printhead and get you back to work quickly. Recommended only for Printers with removable Printheads, for instance Canon.

1. Make certain every cartridges have ink inside them

2. Complete a Deep Clean operation through your printer properties (click on Start, Printers & Faxes, right click your printer and click on Properties. Select the maintenance tab and click on deep clean. Select all colors)

3. Now perform a Nozzle Check from your similar maintenance tab

4. From your print out, determine which ink isn’t coming through. The print should show a table of black (a checkbox of black line), 2 stripes of Cyan, 2 of Red and 1 of Yellow. Whichever is just not showing a solid line identifies the inkjet that is blocked. If every colors are showing strong solid lines then the problem is fixed. If not, carry out another deep clean and another nozzle check. If still no recovery; move on to the next tip.

5. Remove the inks and tap them steadily on a piece of white paper towel . You are looking to observe if ink comes out of the tanks or not. If not, then your cartridges could be at fault; but if ink is showing on the paper then we ought to turn our attention to the print head.

6. Steam Jet Clean the print head . Remove your inks and print head. Using the Steam Jet Cleaner (preferably above a trash can to catch the mess!) arrange the Steam Jet Cleaner nozzle over the inkjet heads (the circles that the cartridge sponges sit over) and pull the trigger for 1-2 seconds. Steam will jet through the inkjet clearing out stubborn clogs. Of course, colored steam / hot water will fly out the underpart of the print head so be sure not to get in its way. Duplicate this procedure for every inkjets in the print head. Put your cartridges back into the print head.

7. Kleaning Kartridges. You might also try removing your inks and replace them with the Kopy Kake Kleaning Kartridges. Perform a deep clean operation. After that put your edible inks back inside the print head and perform a regular cleansing procedure.

8. Complete a Nozzle Check. What does the pattern look like now? If it is not showing strong solid lines of color then we need to try something in addition. Remove your ink, and remove your print head. Sit the print head inside a shallow bowl (1/2″) of airbrush cleaning fluid, warm distilled, or deionized water.. Place the tip of a syringe (such as that located in a Syringe cleaning Kit) over the inkjet heads (the circles that the cartridge sponges sit over) and pull the plunger to suck the cleaning fluid up through the print head. This will clear out a clog. Once you’ve done this, put back the inks and try a Nozzle Check. How is it now?

9. If your Nozzle Check is still not showing solid lines of color then you need to do again one, or every of the above steps until it does.

If when you tapped the tanks on the white paper towel color did not come out of them, you need to remove the airlock which is possible to be causing the trouble. Sometimes rotating the inks upside down will do it (try it then put them in the printer and perform a Nozzle Check to find out). Occasionally you will need to prick a little hole in the center of the cartridge top (on the sponge side of the tank) with a pin or tack.
